Noise Pollution / Acoustics

Preliminary evaluation of the Solarcrete Wall Panel System by Acoustical Architect, Charles Stark gave the system an STC rating of between 70 and 75. This rating is much higher than that which is normally found in roof systems, which play a significant role in completing the acoustical envelope. As in all aspects of construction, a complete systems approach is necessary in order to provide the most effective finished product. An architect who specializes in acoustical design can help design a complete acoustical envelope.

With the Solarcrete Wall System as a starting point, the wall ceases to be the most limiting factor in achieving the best acoustical envelope available. Special interior acoustical wall finishes can increase the acoustical properties of a building, but few other systems offer a better initial acoustical rating by itself.
